Academics / Curriculum : Bible

Bible 6
"Let God Be God" is the study of the nature and character of God. It is based on the premise that the more we know and understand God through a careful study of His Word, the greater will be our personal challenge to maintain a right relationship with Him. This course translates knowledge into personal application as students discover how an attribute of God applies to their daily lives.
Grade: 6
Course Length: 1 year

Bible 7
The theme for the seventh grade Bible class is “developing Godly leadership skills”. This is accomplished through a study of the Book of Judges. Using the textbook, along with other curriculum aids, the students examine the lives of historical figures from the Biblical time of the Judges. Character qualities, both negative and positive, are illuminated, emphasized, studied and discussed so that each student gets an opportunity to examine how they could implement positive changes to their own leadership skills. This class is an exciting mixture of Bible history and practical life applications.
Grade: 7
Course Length: 1 year

Bible 8
The eighth grade Bible class curriculum is centered on the ins and outs of studying the Bible. The course has a mixture of large scale concepts and personal application. The beginning of the year focuses on basic concepts about the Bible such as different types of Bibles and how the books of the Bible were chosen. On a practical application level, the students then learn the elements of an effective quiet time. As the year progresses the students learn how to study the Bible more adequately and accurately through both instruction and practice. The school year culminates with students compiling a list of tough Biblical questions. They then take this list and, using the Bible study skills they have learned, answer (as best as possible) a tough question. Once they have done that they present their findings to their peers.
Grade: 8
Course Length: 1 year
