PSP is a hybrid program that allows a student to take up to three classes on the MCS campus, with the parent/student then choosing the educational methods for the remaining courses. Our program offers students 6-12th grade: 

  • Choice of curriculum from MCS approved list 
  • Access to CIF Athletics 
  • Academic counseling; accountability via family meetings with PSP Coordinator every 6 weeks 
  • Access to Student Life Activities, Chapels, retreats and more
  • Opportunities to take external courses | college courses
  • Graduation with a diploma from MCS (under WASC and ASCI Accreditation) 
  • Up to 3 classes on campus (includes music | art | theater electives, languages (Spanish, ASL (HS only), science labs, AP and Honors courses (HS only) 
  • Homeschooling and alternative education support | opportunities

REQUIREMENTS

  • A one-year history of homeschooling is preferred but not required for students entering these grade levels. 
  • The homeschooling parent must be available to supervise and manage the student’s educational components during the school day (part time work or work from home that still allows time for course guidance and student supervision is acceptable). 
  • Parent must adhere to the PSP requirements and guidelines, including meeting with the PSP Coordinator every 6 weeks (meetings include collection of grade book, work samples and review/approval of current grade), maintaining an accurate grade book, meeting with the PSP Coordinator for proctoring/grading of student exams for all subjects, adhering to curricular and campus guidelines (including CIF requirements for student athletes), and other as noted in the PSP Contract.

In order to comply with MCS grade level and graduation requirements, to keep our PSP students identified as MCS students, and to comply with CIF/Accrediting Agencies as needed, all PSP students are required to take 4 courses under MCS Administration. These include on campus courses and homeschooled courses that are directly supervised/proctored/grade verified by MCS staff. 

 

  • A one-year history of homeschooling is REQUIRED for students entering these grade levels. (Exceptions MAY be granted for physician documented medical situations requiring a long-term change in student schedule OR for missions work requiring overseas or other extended travel. Principal grants exceptions.)

  • We only allow entry into PSP in Grade 12 by Principal exception. 
  • Any Seniors admitted to PSP by exception must comply with the Grade 10-11 requirements, as well as general program requirements.

MCS On Campus Class – $1,589/class
1/7 of JH Tuition

PSP Admin Fee – $750
Covers PSP admin (including progress meetings, program needs, adviser services, access to campus services and student life)

PSP Admin Fee, Sibling Discount – $375

Independent Course Admin Fee, Proctored – $200
Covers proctoring/grading and course admin for each homeschooled course; includes core subjects and some Bible courses

Independent Course Admin Fee, Not Proctored – $100
Covers course admin for each homeschooled course that does not require proctoring (some Bible courses, PE, VAPA)

Proctor Fee – $20/hour
Proctoring services for external courses (online, etc.)

*No fees for online courses without proctoring (community college courses)

ADDITIONAL FEES FOR ALL MCS STUDENTS

Application Fee – $125
one-time non-refundable fee for new students

Registration – $375 new student | $350 returning student
annual enrollment fee – includes processing, school materials, yearbook, field trip transportation, etc.

FACTS Setup Fee – $45 
one-time annual charge required by FACTS

School Uniforms – $150-300
school uniforms are purchased through Sue Mills or Lands’ End

P.E. Uniforms – $45-100
PE uniforms can be purchased online
