Maranatha Christian Schools is seeking individuals with a heart for children, a calling to education, and a commitment to Jesus Christ. We are excited about what God is doing at MCS.

administration 

director of biblical studies and discipleship (12-month)

Type of Employment:  Full-Time
Level/Dept: Administration - reports to Superintendent

Major Responsibilities
  • Be intentional about serving as a spiritual mentor and a resource to faculty/staff, students and parents (prayer, counseling, biblical integration, etc.).
  • Under the direction of the MCS administration, identify and help promote the spiritual formation of the MCS student body.
  • Be prepared to oversee Bible curriculum for all divisions.
  • Develop and oversee the chapel program, mission trips, faculty and staff devotions, small groups, spiritual emphasis week and annual spiritual life retreats.
  • Be involved and help lead student leadership and mentoring initiatives.
  • Develop and track student-service/ministry hours, including placing students out and into the community for authentic Christian service.
  • Act as a liaison to further strengthen the relationship between Maranatha Chapel and Maranatha Christian Schools and continue to advance the MCS mission, vision and core values.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a committed and mature follower of Christ and an active member of Maranatha Chapel.
  • Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) considered with strong gift-mix.
  • Ministry experience.
  • Experience in a school environment or in an approximated related field of work.
  • Ability to create, plan, and effectively carry out strategies related to school-wide spiritual growth.
  • Ability to cultivate strong, appropriate relationships with students as well as adults.
  • Live out the mission, vision and core values of Maranatha Christian Schools (I Timothy 4:12).
  • Full agreement with Maranatha Christian Schools Statement of Faith.
  • Full alignment with Maranatha Chapel’s theological teachings and distinctives.

preschool

preschool teachers (10-month, 2022 - 2023)

Type of Employment: Full-Time
Level/Dept: Preschool

The ideal candidate should be able to plan and implement curriculum & activities, give students the opportunity to develop their fullest potential cognitively, emotionally and spiritually. 

Minimum of AA degree; BA/BS preferred.  Minimum 12 ECE units including required State coursework and working towards 24 ECE units.  Must have development knowledge for ages and stages with young children.  Must be able to be flexible with routines.  A passion for working with young children.

preschool Teacher Assistants (10-Month, 2022 - 2023)

Enhance the educational development of students by assisting teachers and supervising students to help with their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development.

Minimum 12 Early Childhood Education/California State qualifying college units. Preferred 6 months experience.  Valid 1st Aid and Pediatric CPR certificates needed.

After School Care Teacher’s Assistant (10-Month)

Type of Employment:  Part-Time
Level/Dept: Elementary

The successful candidate will help keep MCS students safe inside the classroom and outside on the playground.  They will assist students by contributing to their spiritual, educational, social, and physical development and skills.

A two-year college or associate degree is preferred.

campus support and safety assistant (cssa) (10-month)

Type of Employment: Full-Time
Level/Dept: Main Campus, TK-12

Assists the Supervisor of Campus Support and Safety (SCSS) with the supervision and management of the Teacher Assistants (TA) and Safety departments.  Supports the SCSS with the facilitation of smooth inter-campus communication across the divisions and with After School Care Program (ASCP), Athletic, Facilities, and both Front and Nurse’s Offices.  This position also serves as back-up to the SCSS in their absence and as directed. Additionally, enhances the educational development of the students by assisting teachers and supervising students to help with their spiritual, educational, social and physical development. 

Prefer early childhood education and experience in working with students in a school environment.  Preferred working knowledge of general safety and emergency response-related activities on campus.

High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred; administrative experience preferred.  Two years of increasingly responsible related experience, or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Responsible to plan, organize, and implement an instructional classroom.  Create a loving and nurturing learning environment; develop engaging lesson plans and deliver group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines.  Able to successfully demonstrate classroom management skills in a variety of circumstances.  Knowledgeable on California content standards.

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.  California Teaching Credential multiple subjects.

Summer school assistants are a key part of the team, acting as role models for our students, and are expected to look, act, and speak, as a representative of MCS at all times.

Junior high math teacher (10-month, 2022 - 2023)

Level/Dept: Junior High

Demonstrate competency through experience or education in multiple disciplines, with proficiency in any one discipline may also be qualified. 

Content knowledge of mathematics (through Geometry) and with knowledge of beginning Engineering or other STEM related courses. Prior certification in PLTW is recommended but not needed. All other teaching responsibilities are applicable. To include but not limited to: timely grade entry, parent communication, accreditation, professional development, collaboration and documentation). 

Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Multiple Subject or Single Subject credentials in Mathematics or Science or related content areas and/or teaching professional experience in a related field.

Required a BA/BS.  CA Teaching Credential Multi Subject or CA Teaching Credential Single Subject (Math or Science).

This teaching position requires comprehensive Bible knowledge with the ability to articulate the practical application to student lives; all typical responsibilities of a teacher are applicable, such as timely grade entry, parent communication, lesson planning, and delivery, scope and sequence documentation, accreditation and UC documentation preparation; professional and personal collaboration, practical use of relevant and emerging technologies, and other duties as assigned.
